Almost 24 hours later the brush fire that broke out in east oakland yesterday afternoon thankfully there is no more happening there. Fire officials tell us the fire is now 80 contained. Shot. Police say the man took aim at them forcing them to open fire as commuters looked on. In this incident, shots are being fired at the officer so the officers fearing for their lives had to engage. Reporter police say it all started just after 8 30 this morning when fairfield detectives located a homicide suspect in richmond. They say he refused to stop and led police on a high speed chase down interstate 80 where the chp set up a spike strip to slow him down. The vehicle collided with a concrete barrier. It lost its front right wheel. It came to a stop westbound 80. Officers shut down the freeway as they tried to negotiate a surrender. A lengthy negotiation. He eventually exited the vehicle and started shooting at officers. Commuters who watched it all go down say it was terrifying. Its crazy.
