FAIRFIELD The Wakeman Boys & Girls Club presented the Fairfield Police Department with 120 “survival kits” on Saturday morning inside the club’s fieldhouse.
The kits were donated to the department as a gift from the Great Futures Mentoring Program, officials said. Chief of Police Robert Kalamaras and eight other officers accepted the gifts on behalf of the Fairfield Police Department.
“I have to give credit to Coreen Ahmad of Wakeman (Boys & Girls Club) who reached out to us to provide this unique gift as a small token of appreciation,” Kalamaras told Hearst Connecticut Media. “We offer special thanks to the children who took the time to create the survival kits.”
