According to numbers reported through the fourth quarter of 2020, businesses in South Carolina received $1.2 billion in health-related relief from the CARES act issued by the Department of Health and Human Services. The largest recipient of funding in the state was Prisma Health-Upstate with a total of $131 million. The average loan size in the city was $68,039 while the state s average loan amount was $258,718.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. Fairfield County is hosting no appointment drive-thru COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday, April 14.
On Wednesday, April 14 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. the Fairfield County Government and Fairfield Medical Associates are offering COVID-19 vaccines at Former Fairfield Memorial Hospital site at 102 US Hwy 321 Bypass North.
The drive-thru site will not be requiring appointments, and will be first come, first serve until supplies run out.

Planning is underway to bring a drive-thru vaccine clinic to Winnsboro. We re a fairly small county, so in the beginning honestly I felt that we were a little behind, said Brad Douglas, Director of Fairfield County Emergency Management.

For communities without a hospital, they were forced to wait. In Fairfield County, the hospital closed a couple of years ago, so that put is in a lurch where we had to get at the back of the line, said Mayor of Winnsboro, Dr. Roger Gaddy.
Since Fairfield Memorial Hospital closed, the county partnered with Providence Hospital in Columbia to open a stand-alone emergency room.
