A Boil Order has been issued by the City of Fairfield for a portion of residents north of town. The order is in place for customers on County Road 1850 East of the Fairfield City Limits and heading north to County Road 1120 North. Oakwood Acres is also included in the Boil Order. The boil order is in place until further notice.

Wayne and Edwards counties saw their unemployment numbers hold steady from October to November, according to recent statistics from the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Wayne County held at 4.4 percent, and Edwards County remained at 4.2 percent. Their rates in November 2019 were 4.2 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively.
