BRIDGWATER Town Football Club is joining forces with Yeovil United FC to undertake 50 marathons in 24 hours, with the aim of raising funds for three local charities. Both clubs are owned by Adam Murry, the former co-owner of AFC Bournemouth, who rescued Yeovil Town Ladies (as they were then known) from financial collapse in July 2019. He has now taken over at Bridgwater Town, too, and yesterday it was announced that a deal had been agreed to purchase Fairfax Park from Sedgemoor District Council. The ban on grassroots football fixtures and training during the national lockdown means that neither Bridgwater Town nor Yeovil United’s players can currently compete or train together, but that will not prevent them from taking on a challenge to help those who need it most.
