Oxford Magistrates Court where cases from the Banbury area are held
Merban Ali Hussain, 31, of Padbury Drive, Banbury was fined £120 for breaking the coronavirus lockdown on April 3, 2020 at The Causeway, Banbury.
The court heard Hussain left the place he was living at in Charlotte Avenue, Bicester without reasonable excuse and made off from police officers and hid behind a car on a private driveway. In addition to the fine, Hussain was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £90.
The following cases were also heard at Oxford Magistrates’ Court:
Nicholas John Rutherford, 50, of Butchers Hill, Great Tew was fined £66 for breaking the 30mph speed limit in Bodley Road, Oxford in a Land Rover on June 26. His speed was recorded at 38mph. Rutherford was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and £90 court costs. His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
