COLUMBUS, Ind. – At the Columbus Parks and Recreation (CP&R) Board meeting on Thursday afternoon, president Mark Levett assured that “the city is actively working on” repurposing Fair Oaks Mall, a process that began in 2019 and has included a plan crafted by design firm MKSK.
The partners in the Fair Oaks Community Development Corporation, which is managing the effort, include the city, the parks department, and Columbus Regional Health.
Outward signs of progress have slowed over the past year due to the COVID pandemic but Levett said, “good progress is being made” and “we’re probably a month away from being more public about it.”
