Intl Voices Decry Killing of Civil Society Leader, Driver
The killing of Yousuf Rasheed, CEO of the Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) by unknown gunmen in Kabul city on Wednesday morning has drawn local and international condemnation.
Rasheed and his driver Sami were killed on Wednesday in the Tani Koot area in PD7 of Kabul city while he was on his way to the office and gunmen started shooting at his vehicle, Abdul Baqi Rasheed, his brother, said.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
The Presidential Palace condemned the killing of Rasheed, saying that he spent many years of his life for “democracy and transparency in elections.”
