Reporter there are no shortage of test kits, but higher demand means longer lines and possibly delays in getting results, almost 180,000 people in the state took the test yesterday, and alameda county, that number was about 5500 people. The first guy today said he had his car parked there since 3 30 pm this morning 3 30 am. Reporter in pleasanton, they only have 200 test kits each day. We already had 200 people in line by 9 30 am, today we were turning people away by 8 30 am because there were already 200 people in line. Reporter Health Officials have offered competing messages about weather people should get tested. People who must test, we want them to continue to have access, essential workers and people who have been exposed. We are asking people who want to test, because perhaps they want to test before traveling, to please not, simply postpone your travel. Reporter they warned that a negative pretravel test doesnt guarantee that you wont spread the virus. She will get another tes

Yes, it would probably require a procurement process. But funding first. We will be as ready as we can be when eget the green we get the green light to go in terms of initiating a procurement process. So readiness is what we get from this. I think maybe to add to that, john, in terms of readiness, we also have a partnership established with m. T. C. , who is very invested in helping us get this funded and implemented. We realize this is a time where no one has any extra money and it also says we need to have done, because when the economy comes back and the people come back, they can navigate easily. So we will have it ready and continue to work with m. T. C. And anyone else we might be able to coordinate or partner with to get funds for that. But it just seems contrary to my logic that with backed that, with backed up cases, there are more cases coming into the system. Im not asking you to address that now, but i
