Apparently not everybody cared. And neighbors also reported seeing and hearing illegal fireworks shot off in petaluma last night. It looks like it was popular there, too. A fireworks mishap caused a man to suffer what police are describing as horrific injuries. It happened along port sailwood drive in thornton avenue. Police told abc7 news the man lighting a mortar type of firework inside a tube and went off before he had a chance to get away. The man is being treated. Hundreds of thousands of people enjoyed organized firework shows that lit up the skies across the bay area. In San Francisco, this is what it looked like or perhaps what it sounded like because as you can see, unless you were really concentrating on the low level fireworks, a lot of it disappeared behind the fog.
