Chelsea captain Magdalena Eriksson will leave the club at the end of the season, it has been confirmed.
The 29-year-old Sweden international has made 183 appearances since joining the club from Swedish side Linkopings back in 2017.
She went on to win four Women’s Super League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and an FA Women’s Community Shield.
“It’s with a heavy heart and so many emotions I announce that my journey as a Blue will come to an end,” Eriksson said in an open letter to supporters.
“I see myself as extremely privileged to have played a part in this.
Defender Jess Carter has signed a contract extension with Chelsea Women to keep her at the club until the summer of 2022, with the club having an option to extend for a further 12 months.
