Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr., PRO-11 director, issued the call after the death of a 19-year-old student due to hazing. In a press briefing here, Silo said the police would appreciate if the academe could come up with a strict anti-hazing policy in accordance with Republic Act 8049 or the Anti-Hazing Law. "The hazing activities happen in confined facilities, and it is committed and unknown to the academe. (If they have such policies), such incidents will be lessened, if not stopped," the PRO-11 chief said. August Ceazar Saplot, a "pledgee" of the Alpha Kappa Rho Fraternity (AKHRO), died after reportedly undergoing hazing in Buhangin District on September 18. Saplot
