Around 8:30 p.m. on May 3, Corpus Christi police officers were sent to the 100 block of Buccaneer Drive for a welfare concern. Upon arrival, officers found the body of 55-year-old Jay Vallantyne. Two days later, 19-year-old Ezekiel Garcia was taken in for questioning and arrested on a murder charge. His bond was set at $100,000.
