The Mission on the Bay restaurant will reopen Friday June 9, restaurant owner Marty Bloom announced Tuesday afternoon.Five weeks after a portion of the seawall collapsed below the Humphrey Street restaurant, leaving a hole in the wall and closing the business indefinitely, Bloom said the seaside establishment will be open for business and a small reopening party in a little more than a week.The wall is currently being supported by a thick layer of concrete, which the company Extreme Shotcrete sprayed the afternoon of its collapse for immediate support. In the days following the collapse, Bloom hired the engineering firm Intralux Construction to build a temporary boulder wall supporting the restaurant.

He said the estimated two-week repair includes construction of a large boulder wall supporting the current structure.“Right after Memorial Day that's the goal to finish temporary repairs. That doesn't mean we're going to be perfect on it, but that's what we're shooting for. That puts us reopen sometime in the second or third week of June if everything falls into place,” Bloom said.
