The former pakistani Prime Minister, imran khan, has called on his supporters to protest peacefully, after he was found guilty on Corruption Charges and sentenced to three years in prison. A Court In Islamabad ruled that he had failed to declare income from the sale of gifts he received while in office. The verdict means he isnt allowed to hold Public Office for the next five years. This was billed as a high level delegation that was meant to go to meet with the top Military Leaders to try and get them to step down. Part of this delegation was a former Military Leader of nigeria, neighbouring nigeria, and then also an influential cleric. But the information we are getting right now is that this delegation was in the country forjust a few hours. They met some members of the military but they didnt really meet the top man himself, general abdourahamane tiani, or the deposed president , to try and mediate between the two of them possibly. We understand the delegation has now left. They reason why this is also important is because ecowas, the military bloc, had given the military a deadline of this sunday to step down, or otherwise they might use force to remove them from power.
