LAFAYETTE - One symptom of the covid-19 pandemic has been a shortage of certain consumer goods. The latest item? Fireworks.
If you plan on popping fireworks with your family this year, you may be surprised to find a limited selection at your local retailers.
From computer chips for cars, to chicken and coffee, add fireworks to the latest of global shortages during the pandemic. We’ve been able to get most of our product but there is definitely a shortage. We do have a wide variety, we just don’t have the quantities we normally have, said Rodd Richoux, the owner of Extreme Fireworks, a locally owned and operated fireworks store.
