If you ve been to Walt Disney World, you ve probably used Disney’s Magical Express service going to and from the Orlando International Airport to a Disney World resort. Well, Disney just announced that this free transportation service will end on January 1, 2022. Disney’s Magical Express service will continue for new and existing reservations at Disney Resort hotels throughout 2021. Communications manager for Walt Disney World Resort, Avery Maehrer, explained the decision in a Disney Parks blog post, Vacationers have more options to choose from than ever for transportation, including ride-share services that save time and offer more flexibility to go where they want, when they want. In light of this shift, when Disney Resort hotel bookings open for stays in 2022, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service for airport transportation, starting with arrivals Jan. 1, 2022. Walt Disney World dropped some major news yesterday morning and confirmed your resort hotel stay of the future will differ from that of the past.
Come Jan. 1, 2022 less than a year from now Disney s Magical Express will no longer exist. The massive fleet of buses, operated by Mears Transportation, provided free transportation to any Walt Disney World resort hotel guest, offering convenient and complimentary bus rides between their hotels and Orlando International Airport since it was first introduced in 2005.
