GREATER NOIDA: On the lines of Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad and Gomti riverfront in Lucknow, another riverfront is expected to come up on the eastern banks of the Yamuna.
Planned 130kms away from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida, the riverfront will come up near Vrindavan in Mathura. However, residents of the city will be able to reach the stretch via Yamuna Expressway within 90 minutes.
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday secured the approval of senior UP government officials to start work on the development of the riverfront under its second phase of expansion plans within Raya urban centre.
According to YEIDA, historical data shows that a lot of accidents occur early in the morning, often because the drivers fall asleep. So, the authorities are looking to solve that problem as well.
