A Neptune City man was sentenced to 57 months in prison after he pleaded guilty Monday to illegally possessing a handgun that had been converted into a machine gun, federal authorities announced.
Davon Harley, 30, pleaded guilty to one count each of being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a machine gun, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said in a news release. Harley pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Court Judge Peter G. Sheridan.
Harley was charged last May following an investigation into a February 2020 incident when a Neptune City police officer confronted Harley during an argument with others in the yard of an apartment complex, according to court documents.
