LAFAYETTE, Ind. Olamilekan Akinkugbe became an adult in the judicial system about two weeks before his 18th birthday.
Prosecutors charged Akinkugbe, 17, 568 Westchester Lane, Lafayette, on Wednesday as an adult, accusing him of robbery, theft, resisting law enforcement, false informing and possession of marijuana.
Akinkugbe robbed Daniel Atwell about 10:35 p.m. May 18, according to prosecutors.
Police said last week they believed that Atwell was lured to the apartment complex, at Indiana 25 and U.S. 231, to be robbed.
Atwell, a deliveryman for Pizza Hut, was lured to an apartment on Keyes Court in Romney Meadows. As Atwell knocked on the door, Akinkugbe ran around the corner of the building and attacked Atwell, hitting him several times in the head, according to prosecutors.
