Demand to expedite damaged houses survey in Bara

BARA: The Afridi Relief Committee has demanded the government to expedite the ongoing survey of the houses damaged during militancy in Bara tehsil of the Khyber district.
The demand was made at a programme arranged in the Bara Press Club. It was attended by the Afridi Relief Committee Chairman Maroof Khan Afridi and other members of the committee and local elders.
They said the government should speed up work on the survey of the damaged homes as the people were facing a host of problems.
They decided to hold a meeting with the relevant officers of Khyber district and a survey team to take up the issue with them.
SHC directs federal IT ministry to expedite consultative process

The Sindh High Court directed the federal ministry of information technology and telecommunications on Tuesday to expedite the consultative process of the proposed personal data protection bill so that it could be placed before federal cabinet and the legislation process initiated.
Hearing a petition seeking the issuance of a direction to the government to promulgate necessary laws for the protection of the mobile phone data of citizens, a division bench, headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, inquired the federal law officer about progress in adopting legislation for the protection of personal data.

The Sindh High Court directed the chief secretary on Tuesday to expedite the process for approval of a summary with regard to the payment of the Karachi Development Authority’s retired employees’ outstanding pension dues.
The direction came during the hearing of petitions pertaining to the payment of outstanding dues of more than 1,000 retired employees of the authority. The court, at a previous hearing, had directed the Sindh government to consider a KDA proposal for the grant of a Rs844.159 million loan for clearing the outstanding dues of its retired employees.
The additional advocate general informed a division bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar that a summary for the grant of a loan for the payment of pensionary dues to the employees of the KDA had been forwarded to the chief minister.
