County hiring new security for Pulaski Park

Judge-Executive Steve Kelley presented magistrates a proposal to contract with Chris Lyons, who retired as a detective with the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office Narcotics Division, at a rate of $25 per hour for up to 24 hours per week during the season.

Leadership Lake Cumberland class plans ice rink for Judicial Plaza

Janie Slaven | CJ Anne Montgomery and Ben Robertson of Leadership Lake Cumberland s Class of 2019 presented a proposal to open a synthetic ice rink on the Pulaski Judicial Center Plaza during the month of December.  Christmas in July? Not quite, but plans for the upcoming winter holiday season were discussed at Tuesday s meeting of Pulaski Fiscal Court as magistrates gave Leadership Lake Cumberland s Class of 2019 the green light to convert the Pulaski Judicial Center Plaza into an ice skating rink this December. This group is out of the Chamber [of Commerce] and they ve done a lot of great things here in Pulaski County, Judge-Executive Steve Kelley said by way of introduction. Every year a class gets to learn all about the county and visit a lot of our industrial sites, a lot of the parks…everything that makes Pulaski County great. At the end of the class, they usually have a project where they try to raise funds for something to make Pulaski County a better place. We

Pulaski Fiscal Court passes $32 75 million budget

Also pictured is Pulaski County Judge-Executive Steve Kelley. Last week s meeting of Pulaski County Fiscal Court was particularly eventful. Following the approval of interlocal agreements with the City of Somerset as well a new voting machines, county officials also needed to address a number of housekeeping motions for the final meeting before the beginning of the new fiscal year today (July 1). Magistrates first accepted the 2021-22 salary schedule and all 2021-22 bids received. Later during Treasurer Joan Isaacs departmental report, the court approved the second reading of the 2021-22 budget ordinance.

Magistrates approve new city-county interlocal agreements

Since at least last December, Pulaski County Fiscal Court had been discussing the need to meet with officials from the City of Somerset in order to renew several interlocal agreements. That meeting recently took place to the apparent satisfaction of all parties involved. Following a brief executive session to discuss property near the end of Tuesday s regular meeting, magistrates reconvened in open session to approve three interlocal agreements which will now be submitted to the Somerset City Council for consideration.
