New Zealander Shirley Hooper has been elected as the new Vice President of World Netball (formerly International Netball Federation).
Hooper has been a part of the international governing body since 2017 when she was voted in as a Further Director and went on to act as Chair of the Commercial Committee and a member of the Foundation Strategy Group.
Netball has played a significant part in Hooper’s life for over 50 years as a player, umpire, sponsor, broadcaster, Board member and Chairperson.
Her extensive experience and knowledge in executive management, marketing and sporting governance come from Marketing Director roles with Bendon, Tru-Test and TVNZ; running her own marketing consultancy business; several corporate directorships and a range of sporting governance roles with netball and synchronised swimming in New Zealand.

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) has appointed a
three-person management committee to oversee the Splice
Construction Magic’s recruitment for the 2022 ANZ
Premiership.
Former Olympian Alison Shanks, commercial
property lawyer Scott Ratuki and senior commercial executive
Andrew Gaze will form the new Magic management committee,
starting immediately.
The committee was formed to
support NNZ and interim Magic General Manager, Gary Dawson,
to help develop and maintain positive commercial and funding
partnerships.
But they will also be integral in
overseeing the recruitment process for next year’s ANZ
Premiership team as well as the appointment of Magic’s
team management and staff.

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) has confirmed the Constellation
Cup series between the Silver Ferns and Australian Diamonds
will go ahead with all four Tests played in Christchurch,
closed to the general public.
The Silver Ferns
and Diamonds will meet at Christchurch Arena on Tuesday 2
March and Wednesday 3 March as scheduled, but crowds for the
Constellation Cup, played as part of the Cadbury Netball
Series, will not be permitted due to the re-emergence of
COVID-19 in the community and change of alert levels around
the country.
The two Tests which were to be
played in Tauranga, on Saturday 6 March and Sunday 7 March,
