Tulsa Day Center Says Death Of Homeless Man Outside Is ‘Real Tragedy’
The Tulsa Day Center said a homeless man died Thursday due to what they believe was exposure to the cold weather. They say he was in his 70 s and a familiar face at the day center.
The Tulsa Day Center said the man was camping just across the street, but for whatever reason, he chose not to take shelter that was available to him. The center said it was a sad day for both area shelters and the homeless community. But it was a real tragedy. Of course, it s always a tragedy when we can t reach someone because he had access to night shelter if he wanted it, said Executive Director Mack Haltom.
