PCA seeks coco farmer reps to PCA Board

NEGROS ORIENTAL, May 10 (PIA) The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) has encouraged the coconut farmers in the province to join and submit their nomination and selection requirements on May 12 to reconstitute famer representatives in the PCA Board.
In a Zoom conference with provincial and regional nomination and screening committee, PCA Regional Manager Brendan Trasmonte said coconut farmers organizations, association or cooperatives could best represent their groups and participate in the upcoming and provincial and regional conventions.
However, Trasmonte said the PCA provincial offices have already started accepting qualified nominees after an information campaign on the mechanics of the process with coco farmers in the province.

ILOILO CITY, May 7 (PIA) - - The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is urging coconut farmers organizations, associations and cooperatives in the city and province of Iloilo to participate in the selection of farmer representatives in the PCA Board.
PCA-Iloilo Provincial Manager Joel Solis said the groups have until May 12, 2021 to submit their nomination for a qualified candidate to the PCA Board.
Qualified to be nominated are those farmers who are Filipino citizens; registered with the PCA s Coconut Farmers Registry; own not more than 5 hectares of coconut farm in the last 10 years; nominated by coconut farmers organizations or cooperatives that are active for the past 3 years; and have considerable experience and reputable track record in promoting coconut farmer s interest and welfare.
