Vietnam in top seeded group of AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification

Vietnam’s national U23 team is ranked 13th and among five squads in the top seeded group of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The AFC recently announced the list of 46 teams divided into two regional groups for a draw of the qualifiers.
The No.1 seeded group in Southeast Asia and East Asia also comprises the reigning champions the Republic of Korea, Australia, Thailand and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange has affirmed it will provide support to Tran To Nga to continue her lawsuit against US firms that manufactured the toxic AO defoliant used by US forces during the war in Vietnam.

Earlier, her lawsuit was rejected by the Crown Court of Evry City of France which ruled that the US firms were acting on orders of the US government which was engaged in a “sovereignty act.”

The German Communist Party (DKP) on May 10 issued a statement expressing its support for the lawsuit lodged by Vietnamese French Tran To Nga and Vietnamese Agent Orange/dioxin victims against 14 multinational chemical groups.

In a statement sent to the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany and the Vietnam News Agency representative office in Berlin, the DKP stated that on May 10, a court in Evry city, Paris ruled that the case fell outside its jurisdiction.
Accordingly, the carrier will strictly examine passengers’ mandatory health
declaration and body temperature before boarding, while refusing to transport
those with abnormal health symptoms and installing disinfection mats at boarding
gates.
Besides, separate cars will be arranged to transport crew members at the
airport and between airports and cities.
The airline will ensure that the crew and passengers wear face masks throughout
flights, provide anti-bacterial wipes for passengers, disinfect the airplanes
at the end of each working day, and do the periodic maintenance work on the
HEPA filters.

A French court will open a historic trial on Monday on a lawsuit filed by a 79-year-old Vietnamese-French woman against 26 United States chemical firms that are held responsible for the deposition of Agent Orange/dioxin in Vietnam in wartime.
Tran To Nga is expected to defend her lawsuit at the Crown Court of Evry City in a suburb of Paris.
Nga, who was born in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang in 1942, was a correspondent for the
Liberation News Agency.
