An edited single version, tracking at less than three minutes, stalled at No. 67, with “Take Me for a Little While” on the flip side. In the summer of 1968, “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” was attempted again as a single, with a new flip side called “Come By Day, Come By Night,” and it went to the Top 10.
