A FLOOD warning where “immediate action is required” remains in place in Bredon despite the River Avon’s levels beginning to drop. Widespread flooding has hit the Evesham area over the past few days and while there is some relief at levels peaking last night (Sunday, January 31), forecast rain would bring with it more problems. As things stands, a flood alert – which warns the public to “be prepared” is active around Evesham and moving south but the warning kicks in as water heads down into already troubled areas. A Flood Warning Information Services (FWIS) statement read: “River levels remain high but are falling at the Bredon gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
