Sophie Xeon, professionally known as SOPHIE, was a producer, musician, singer and DJ who died suddenly on Jan. 30, 2021. She was 34. The avant-garde, Grammy-nominated pop star’s death was co-announced by the Scottish artist’s record labels, Transgressive and Future Classic. Transgressive published the following statement on its website, revealing that SOPHIE’s death stemmed from a “terrible accident.”
The statement said, “Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us. The family thanks everyone for their love and support and requests privacy at this devastating time.”

Artists are remembering ‘a true visionary’ after the death of producer SOPHIE was confirmed during the weekend.
While the release of 2018’s Oil Of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides was met with much acclaim as she remained a reclusive figure, it was songwriting and production contributions to the likes of Charli XCX which cemented an indelible influence on the high attitude pop of many current chart stars.
It was a tragic accident which caused her sudden death, outlined in a family statement which reads:
“Tragically our beautiful SOPHIE passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us.”

.- Sophie, an innovative producer and performer whose music distilled speed, noise, melody, clarity and catchiness into what would soon be called hyperpop, died on Saturday in Athens, Greece. She was 34.
Her death, after an accident, was confirmed in a statement from her management company, Modern Matters, which said that Sophie, who was Scottish, had been living in Greece, and that true to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell.

Grammy-nominated singer and producer SOPHIE is dead at 34, her rep announced over the weekend. The Scottish-born, L.A.-based artist died in Athens, Greece, after a “terrible accident,” her record label Transgressive said in a statement. “True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell.
