Under the Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes from Black Sabbath
I picked this song when we were driving to the airport to go home. Until then I had only listened to it on my dad’s record player at home. So I bought it on iTunes that morning because I wanted to listen to it and see how it would go with surfing. I figured they would go together good, kind of skate vibe-ish. Turns out it was a sure thing. (Chippa Wilson)

Made in L.A. under the influence of colossal amounts of cocaine, the heavy metal legendsâ fourth album, recently reissued, made room for both light and shade and featured several of their signature songs.
It would be misleading to argue that
Vol. 4 is the work of Black Sabbath at the peak of their powers. When youâre the band that recorded âIron Man,â âWar Pigs,â and âParanoid,â and you put them all on the same album, congratulations,
thatâs the peak of your powers. But Vol. 4â recently reissued with a full haul of outtakes, false starts, and live versionsâis a close second. The sense of scale, the lyrical directness, and the sheer riff-crunching power that mark the band at their best are all here, along with several signature Sabbath tunes.

If you ask somebody what their favourite Black Sabbath song is, they ll most likely name one of the band s heavily played singles, like Paranoid or Iron Man . Others may point to the atmospheric number that started it all, the eerie Black Sabbath . And then there s the Ronnie James Dio fans who are all over Heaven and Hell .
Me, I m a Supernaut kinda guy.

When I interviewed Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi back in 2007 I told him I was particularly fond of the track from 1972 s
Vol. 4, and he offered an interesting reply.
