Special to the Crier
As we launch into 2021, there are many worries on most people’s minds, but there’s good news too. Sustainable Sudbury’s mission, raising environmental awareness and sponsoring sustainable, earth-friendly activities in our community, is more important than ever and we are also more organized than ever. A look back at all we accomplished in 2020 reminds us of the strength of our community to meet challenges and continually improve the lives of our residents and the natural environment around us. How did we do it? Through partnerships with town of Sudbury officials and committees, residents and other community groups who care about Sudbury and about the environment.

Editor s note: The following is a press release from the Town of Sharon.
The Town of Sharon has signed an electricity supply contract with Constellation to launch the Sharon Power Choice program in March 2021.
A type of group electricity buying program, Sharon Power Choice will give Sharon residents and businesses greater control over the renewable energy content of their electricity and over their electricity supply price.
The program will offer three new electricity supply options, more clean electricity, 34 months of electricity price stability, and consumer protections.
Sharon Power Choice will not replace Eversource or National Grid, which will still provide delivery services. Instead, the program will change the price that Eversource and National Grid use to calculate the supply charge portion of consumers’ electricity bills.

Residents and business in Boston who pay for electricity are being informed by mail of a new city-sponsored program, Community Choice Electricity (CCE), that is aimed at improving Boston’s clean energy performance via a bulk purchasing program that allows the city to buy electricity on behalf of those residents and businesses.
The rollout process will automatically enroll them in the program, which is scheduled for launch on Feb. 1, though they will have the opportunity to decline to participate.
The mailings include invitations to online webinars where people can learn about their options.
