Next month, Remote Area Medical (RAM) is hosting a free clinic for medical, dental and vision services for the local Maryville community.Â
The clinic will be held between Saturday, Aug. 14 and Sunday, Aug. 15 at Everett Recreation Center in Maryville. The clinic opens at 6 a.m. on Saturday, and patients are encouraged to arrive at the clinic as early as possible. The parking lot in the recreation center will open at the earliest at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13.Â
Patients are also encouraged to choose between vision and dental services during their visit, and free medical services will be offered in addition to these.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) Remote Area Medical is hosting a free medical close to home. The Rockford, Tennessee, nonprofit is hosting a clinic Aug. 14-15 in Maryville. RAM’s clinics offer free dental, vision and medical care to underserved and uninsured individuals. All services are free, and no ID is required. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
The two-day clinic, in collaboration with members of the community and Leadership Blount Alumni, will be held at the Everett Recreation Center, 318 S. Everett High Road.
“Working with RAM has been an amazing experience,” said Jeanette Beaverson, community host group promotions chair. They have made such a difference across the world. We are very lucky to not only have the clinic here but to have them headquartered in our county,”

Richard J. “Dick” Barry, a proud Everett native, passed away at 88 years old. Dick was an old-school cop, investigator and soldier and whose spectacular career accomplishments are in contrast to the humble, caring, and giving man who never strayed far from his roots or his family.
Dick graduated from Everett High School in 1951. He was pre-deceased by his mother Katherine (Powers) Barry, brother Lamont, sister Corinne, brother-in-law Thomas Lee and friend Stanley Notkin. Dick is survived by his high school sweetheart Cheerleader Mary (Lucci) whom he married on Valentine’s Day 67 years ago (together for 71). Father of Richard II and his wife Paula, Kim Arruda and her husband Deo, Lori Lombard, Scot and his wife Pamela. Adored Grandfather to Richard III, Luccia, Barryphillip, Taylor, Jimmy and William, Great Grandfather to Arden. Brother-in-law to Patricia (Lucci) Lee. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and many good friends.
