BELLEVILLE A Belleville woman claims she was attacked by a neighbor s dog while in her own yard.
Shonquetta Hannon filed a complaint May 4 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Everett Norvell and Scott Ruthardt, alleging negligence.
Hannon claims in her suit that she was on her property on South 35th Street in Belleville on Jan. 13, when the defendants American Bulldog broke free from its enclosure. Hannon claims the dog bit her and caused her to suffer injuries to her arms. She alleges the defendants dog had dangerous and vicious propensities and tendencies and that she was lawfully and peacefully on her own property when she was attacked. Hannon also alleges the defendants had a duty to eliminate or warn of the dog s dangerous behavior.
