Writers’ Corner: ‘Addiction to Animal Therapy’
Catherine Brady
Over the past year, we have all found ways to help us survive the deluge of frightening, unhappy and confusing news.
For me, what started as light-hearted, comedy, and fun morphed into a broad spectrum of education about animals. Laughter with animals is the most potent medicine ever. Unintentional, innocent behaviors are the best. Over a year, a quick-fix activity has blossomed to an appreciation of animals throughout the world and their respective cultures.
Early on, my focus was on cute puppies and kittens. YouTube.com videos were a treasure trove of viewing delight. One of my favorites is “Hogan’s Adventures.” He is a large, mastiff puppy with a digitally-animated talking face with a sweet young girl’s voice. In a Southern drawl, he spouts philosophies on the absurdities of life to his mama. He shares life lessons we all need.
