Pandemic is still not over and people are still getting sick and still dying. And i like to start talks by asking people to check in with because i find that everyones being affected in some way. There are definitely people who feel recovered and that theyre thriving in their lives and there people who are really struggling, people now struggling because held it together when things were really stressful and they are now falling apart and people who had their support systems fall apart and then now theyre falling apart. And there are people who are kind of languishing in the middle. You know, its its not thats clinical, but its theyre tired. And so i just want to invite people, check in with themselves and feel how theyre feeling. I wrote this book. Because i was in my house with my two daughters and my husband when everything shut down, i had a front row seat to. That is fine. Because he ought to go to college if it serves your need and it is a reasonable decision financially. We are convinced today by the powers of the experts that everyone should go to college and spend whatever it takes. That is not a Good Business plan for anybody. When he told me he was going to college i told him you need to do something with your time. You need more academics. You should invest in. I suggested he write a book. What am i going to write a book about, he said. I said, well you like politics, come up with something political that is humorous. So. You sent out a tweet saying college is a very expensive lottery ticket. Yes. It is. I forgot that i did that. But it is. We live in a society where our schools are really forcing us to think about ourselves as the highest Value College prep and career readiness. That is their focus. That is a promise. Parents are like, what are your stats . How many kids go to college . How many graduate and all of that, what are th
