Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park plans 3 concert series this summer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is planning for the return of live music this summer with three series featuring musicians from the Grand Rapids Symphony and West Michigan.
They include âFifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens,â âTuesday Evening Music Clubâ and the âJim & Marie Preston Sunday Strings,â according to a news release Thursday.
All dates, performers and information are subject to change based on COVID-19 restrictions.
âWe are very excited to bring the Grand Rapids Symphony back to Meijer Gardens for these special concerts,â said Mary Tuuk Kuras, president and CEO of the Grand Rapids Symphony. âOur shared mission of promoting the arts and bringing our community together makes this partnership a wonderful fit.â

GRAND RAPIDS, MI O.A.R., Kansas and The Verve Pipe are among the groups tentatively scheduled for the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens series this summer.
The groups were announced Thursday, April 29 by Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, with the caveat that all shows are subject to change because of coronavirus restrictions.

Pop sensation Justin Bieber makes a rescheduled tour stop June 25 at Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Arena, followed four days later by the Dave Matthews Band.
Country star Luke Bryan plays a sold-out show May 29 outside Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, with heavy metal’s Megadeth and Lamb of God, rap’s Snoop Dogg with Wiz Khalifa, and country’s Miranda Lambert with Lee Brice taking the outdoor stage in July, followed in August by rock’s Shinedown with Pop Evil and country’s Keith Urban with Lindsay Ell.
Frederik Meijer Gardens Release Their 2021 Schedule
Last year just about everything was cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus. That included many of the events at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture park. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year. With those hopes, they have released their schedule of events for 2021.
For safety and health concerns, many of their regular events are either on hold or will be held virtually this year.
The Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming exhibition will run from Monday, March 1st thorough Friday, April 30th. This exhibit features more than 60 different species of butterflies and moths in the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory. Approximately 800 chrysalides will be delivered weekly. These chrysalides and cocoons will be located in the observation station. They will transform into butterflies that will live in the conservatory.
