The Philadelphia Eagles already traded a first-round pick once during this draft cycle. There’s reason to think they might again.

The Athletic’s Ben Standig, who spoke with general managers, executives, agents and other league sources for his pre-draft notes column. The Eagles last month dropped from No. 6 to No. 12 after a trade with the Dolphins, who sent the No. 3 pick to the quarterback-seeking 49ers.
Sitting at No. 12 likely puts Philadelphia in position to select one of the top three wide receiver prospects with Alabama’s DeVonta Smith the best bet to fall outside the top 10. That’s also a spot where South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn might seem attractive for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. By moving up, the Eagles could land a higher-rated player at each position.

Wednesday, April 14: Jadeveon Clowney’s deal in Cleveland changes Browns’ draft plans
The Athletic’s Zac Jackson writes that Clowney’s addition should open up the Browns’ draft options as they continue to attack their top offseason priority: adding talent on defense.
With the No. 26 pick, the Browns could still take an edge rusher, Jackson noted, but it’s not necessary yet.
“The addition of Clowney gives the team options and could lead to the Browns drafting a cornerback or defensive tackle in the first round,” Jackson writes.
The 2021 draft class isn’t particularly flashy on defense, but the good news for the Browns is that there are a lot of good options at cornerback.
