The Studebaker long ago went the way of hula-hoops and button-down collars. But, in the world of F.W. (John) Dixon, those fine old cars live on. A resident west of Gull Lake, Dixon turned his backyard into what he calls a “home for orphaned Studebakers,” and the retired railroader currently has 27 of them.

The Warrior girls basketball team knocked off previously unbeaten and seventh-ranked St. Cloud Apollo 52-48 in a conference game yesterday. Brainerd point guard Lisa Renneke scored 17 points, and had six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Amy Kittleson has 11 points and five blocked shots.
