WORCESTER Traditionally, a loud and rambunctious crowd of festive partygoers rally behind the counting down of a giant party ball being droppedin New York’s Times Square to mark the arrival of 2021.
This New Year’s Eve, however, chances are you will be able to hear a pin drop when the clock strikes midnight.
What a difference a year makes, especially when it’s 2020 the year of the coronavirus.
Local bars, pubs and restaurants that are usually packed to the rafters with champagne-sipping, horn-blowing, confetti-throwing revelers are going to be vacant and dark, with their lights out and doors locked for hours before the midnight hour.
