FX’s comedy series
Breeders starring Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard has been renewed for a third season after wrapping Season 2 on May 17 (via Variety). Season 3 is expected to premiere in 2022.
“Delighted that we’ve got three seasons,” said series showrunner and co-creator Simon Blackwell. “One more and it’s a pizza. This is such a superb team to work with, and it’s a pleasure and a privilege to make the show. I can’t wait to see what terrible and brilliant but let’s face it mainly terrible things will happen to the Worsley family in the next 10 episodes.”

Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard return as potty-mouthed parents in Sky sitcom Breeders

From Tepid Tim in The Office to Wincing Watson in Sherlock, Martin Freeman has built his career on a talent for elevated grumpiness. There are funnier, more charismatic actors – but when it comes to projecting a crotchety everyman quality he is without peer.
It’s a very specific skill-set. And endearingly potty-mouthed parenting sitcom
Breeders (Sky One) continued to prove the perfect vehicle for Freeman. Returning for a second series, the outwardly cynical, secretly sentimental, London-set family drama was indebted to Freeman’s talent for looking massively peeved. As it would be, considering he has credits as creator and co-producer.
