According to a press release, Hood was operating a 1985 Honda Shadow 700C on Vocational Road at approximately 5:39 p.m. Sunday when the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. Hood was thrown from the motorcycle.
The patrol reported Hood was unconscious and was treated by United Ambulance personnel prior to the arrival of MedFlight at a landing zone established nearby at the location of Trader Days.
The medical helicopter arrived at 6:05 p.m. and cleared the landing zone 20 minutes later en route to the Columbus hospital.
Pleasant City firefighters and Guernsey County sheriff s deputies assisted troopers and medical personnel at the scene.
