With chief fired, West Linn plans police oversight board
The police accountability task force has been working on plans for a permanent oversight board
By the end of this year, the West Linn Police Oversight and Accountability Task Force aims to have a recommendation ready for City Council on the structure of a permanent body to oversee West Linn police.
The task force, which formed this summer in the wake of a racist policing scandal, has met biweekly since September and has two scheduled meetings left to hammer out plans for the new oversight body.
At its most recent meeting, Dec. 2, the taskforce discussed the possibility of continuing meetings into January if necessary.
