Great to be here with you, and im so excited about your cookbook. Thank you. So wonderful. I wonder why a cookbook from this restaurant. You have 11 restaurants all over the country, all over the world. When is it time for a restaurant to have its own cookbook . Well first of all, i mean my wife, my family, we live in harlem. I walk to work to the red rooster and its really, the community that has embraced us so much. So i felt like opening red rooster was really an opportunity to start a new conversation. Right. About as much about harlem as it is about food right . About the place, but also the mis, i think the miseducation about African Americans contribute about culture of this country. So harlem real
Shawn colvin, welcome. [shawn] thank you. [eric] nice to see you again. [shawn] you too. [eric] its so nice to hear your voice coming out of a record, i have to tell you the great fun ive had over the last couple of weeks listening to this record. It reminds me how much i enjoy hearing your music. Thank you. And its a really great, and interesting, and different record. Its very spare, very raw, and casual. Not is as if pejorative i say that, but it just doesnt feel like its been overproduced and over done. Feel like you all had fun thats a great compliment. [eric] making it. We did, and it was done quickly, a week and a half and [eric] you recorded it in a week and a half . We did. And those are exactly the words we want you to use to describe it. Good. And it was recorded in different places, or it was recorded in one place . No, it was recorded in nashville with buddy miller whos a producer and often its not when he produces, you record at his house, which is what we did and it was
Are you going to run for president . I think i just got an f from you, actually. applause diane guerrero, welcome. Thank you for having me. So nice to meet you. The book is amazing and maybe the most amazing thing about it is the bravery that had to have gone into the decision to write it. You could have gone along in your very successful career as an actress and never written this book, never told this story, probably not subjected yourself to what, im sure, youve been subjected to in writing it. Yes, its so, why do it . Well, first, you give me way too much credit. As somebody who is brave . Well, okay. I think brave and successful you have to live on twitter after this book comes out, so thats up to you. Thats right, thats right. I mean, look. I saw a need for this story to come out and i so desperately wanted to be part of that movement and join the fight. I was inspired by dreamers going out there and putting themselves at risk, demanding for immigrant rights. I knew i had such a

Apparently not, the most revenue, the most profit, the most shareholder returns, the highest stock price. The most customers. The most customers. The highest load factor. You have more planes than ever. Youve got more destinations than ever. Youve got a new reservation system in place. You havent dragged anybody off a plane. audience laughs there are no scorpions in the cabins. You havent killed anybodys dog that im aware of. I mean you really have managed to cut your own path. Yeah stop there. Stop right there, good. audience laughs youve managed to cut your own path here, and i think theres a lot
Lyle lovett, welcome. Evan, thanks for having me. Nice to be back with you. Congratulations on 16 years of the show well, thanks very much. Cant believe it, time goes fast. It was first season that we first spoke. Yeah, thats right, you came back again one more time, and now here you are again, so see you in eight years. Thats how that goes, i think, right . Or Something Like that. Yeah. So were sitting here today against the backdrop of this awful weather in houston, flooding. A community that you know well, care enormously about. You were born in memorial hospital, right, in houston . In methodist hospital. Methodist hospital, pardon me, in houston, and you grew up in houston and around houston, and you still live in the still live here, still live right where i grew up. Yeah, i know its, ive been keeping an eye on the, and been on the phone all day back home. Lots of folks are underwater, where we are in north Harris County, were on high enough ground that were okay, but things are
