The residents suing Upper Pottsgrove township to prevent the construction of a municipal complex planned for land purchased for open space protection filed a request for an emergency injunction.
The railroad began the year by paying a visit to the "tent city" off College Drive where some of the area's homeless have pitched tents. The railroad informed Pottstown Police it would "clear the people 60 feet from the tracks" during the first week of January, according to Borough Manager Justin Keller.
