Good evening, im brian hackny. Im ann notarangelo. Christian hartnet is telling us that Kaiser Permanente is about to go on a major hiring spree. It shouldnt be long at all before that happens and that is good for patients but Kaiser Permanente cant exhale just yet. The agreement between kaiser and the registered nurses union ends longstalled talks over new contracts. The most recent one expired last august. 18,000 registered nurses in northern and Central California were prepared to strike over a twoday period next week. But not any longer. The California Nurses Association says the new three year pact is a big victory for registered nurses. And this is huge, and we are super excited that kaiser decided to increase the amount of nurses that will be taking care of these patients. Not only does the contract call for the hiring of hundreds of more registered nurses at kaiser, it also includes more workplace protection, pay increases, and better retirement plans.
