This is a this is a sizable deficit. Governor gavin newsom not mincing words about his proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. Its a proposed 288 billion dollars spending plan that per newsom comes with a projected 27. 6 billion dollar deficit. That figure is much more optimistic than that of the nonpartisan legislative Analysts Office or who earlier this year projected the state faces a 73 billion dollar deficit. Authorities first reported this fire around 8 oclock this evening near 27th and west streets. They just confirmed 10 minutes ago. The situation is under control. The Oakland Fire Department posted this video from the scene earlier tonight. Those flames erupted at singlefamily home and a church. The home is now considered a total loss. The church suffered some significant damage, as you can see here. Both buildings were empty at the time of the fire. So no one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.
