A new credit union in town has officially opened its doors for the public.
After breaking ground on Carmichael Street in Essex last summer, SeaComm Federal Credit Union celebrated the constructionâs completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 16 before welcoming in customers April 19.
It is the credit unionâs eighth retail branch but just the second in Vermont â the other being in South Burlington â for the financial cooperative based out of Massena, N.Y.
âWe are delighted to be a part of the greater Essex community and that our new location at 25 Carmichael Street will give us access to a highly visible, ever-expanded retail location,â said SeaComm President and Chief Executive Officer Scott A. Wilson. âThe Town of Essex was very supportive of our new building project throughout the planning and construction phase.
