1.1 Introduction
EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is a policy network encompassing women’s rights organizations from the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea that provides expertise in the field of gender equality and advocates for women’s rights as inseparable from democracy building and citizenship, for political solutions to all conflicts, and for the right of people to self-determination. The head office is in Paris and the regional MENA office is in Amman, Jordan with country offices in Amman and Beirut.
Lebanon’s Disabled Community Is Dying

hen asked to describe the current political and social crisis facing Lebanon today, most people living in the country will compare their situation to being caged in an open-air prison. People living with a neurological or physical disability face particular challenges in Lebanon’s political and economic crisis. The situation that disabled people endure today was not inevitable nor of their own choosing there are thousands of stories of struggling Lebanese citizens who deserve more from the Lebanese government and international actors.
Stories such as Yousif al Mawla, the member of a wheelchair basketball team, offer a glimpse of the scenario shared by many Lebanese living in an environment of indifference. (MENAFN - Jordan Times) AMMAN â To support the Ministry of Health s transportation and delivery of routine and COVID-19 vaccines through mobile immunisation centres, the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Jordan through the European Union s Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, the Madad Fund, provided two refrigerated vehicles and 15 pickups to the National Immunisation Programme.
Additionally, 200,000 rapid diagnostic tests for the fast detection of COVID-19 infections and outbreaks at the health facility level were also provided, according to a WHO statement.
Health Minister Nathir Obeidat acknowledged the partnership with the European Union, through the efforts of WHO in Jordan to support the health sector particularly the response to COVID-19 pandemic.
