Solidarity statement for cross-border drivers striking at Gräfenhausen in Germany

ITF & ETF joint solidarity statement Transport workers across Europe and around the world have been inspired by the courage and willingness to fight of the Georgian and Uzbekistani truck drivers who have been striking for the past two weeks against inhumane conditions and the failure of Polish transport consortium Lukmaz, Agmaz and Imperia to pay their wages.

Ban private jets!

Private jets are something like ten times more carbon-emitting than normal commercial flights and fifty times more than trains. They are a significant part of the reason that half the emissions from aviation are caused by the activity of 1% of the world’s population - almost entirely the extremely wealthy. Despite European governments’ professions of concern about climate change, private jet flights taking off in Europe increased by 64% last year, with emissions from them more than doubling to over 3m tonnes of CO2.

ITF & ETF stand with pilots over safety threat

The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) and European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) stand in support of three major pilot organisations who joined forces and issued a strong statement opposing reduced crew operations.
