UPDATE 1-MOVES-Maersk Oil Trading appoints Uszko as renewable fuels boss

By Reuters Staff (Ads background) LONDON, April 21 (Reuters) - Maersk Oil Trading (MOT), part of Denmark shipping group Maersk, has appointed Urszula Uszko as global head of renewable fuels in Copenhagen, the company said on Wednesday. A spokeswoman for Maersk said Uszko, who was previously at BP, will start Aug. 1. MOT is the bunkering and oil trading arm of the group and is key to its decarbonisation goals. Maersk, with a fleet of over 700 ships, aims to be carbon neutral by 2050. The firm plans to have its first carbon neutral vessel, running on methanol, operational by 2023. By Reuters Staff (Adds details, background) ALGIERS, April 15 (Reuters) - Algerian state oil company Sonatrach said on Thursday it had terminated a 2004 contract with Petroceltic PLC, which was later bought by Sunny Hill Energy, for exploration and production in the Ain Tsila gas field. Sonatrach, which has faced years of declining energy output, said in an emailed statement that the termination was in accordance with the contract, and that it had taken the step after Petroceltic failed to comply with contractual obligations. Algeria is trying to encourage investment in its energy sector by international oil companies to reverse its falling production levels, which have hit state finances.

(OCI), which is backed by Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris, are weighing an initial public offering of their fertiliser joint venture Fertiglobe, two sources familiar with the matter said. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Fertiglobe was formed in 2019 after OCI and ADNOC combined their ammonia and urea assets, with the two companies currently holding ownership stakes of 58% and 42% respectively. ADNOC and OCI invited international and local banks to pitch for potential roles in Fertiglobe’s public share-sale, said the sources, declining to be named because the matter is not public.
